Most bathroom heaters use short-wave infrared lamps. They’re great because they hit you with instant heat, but there’s a catch: they often give off this harsh, blinding glare. If you’re designing for a home with a baby, you can’t just crank up the heat and call it a day. You have to think about the light. Protecting Little Eyes Here’s the thing about babies: their eyes aren’t fully developed yet. They don’t have the same natural filters we do, which means that bright, blue-ish light can actually be harmful to them. We don’t use magic to fix this—just some smart physics. We use special coatings and filtered quartz to dial down the blue light and soften the glow. The goal is to keep the warmth hitting the skin while making sure the light doesn’t overload a baby’s retina. It keeps the room cozy and damp-free without the blinding brightness. Fighting the Humidity Bathrooms are honestly pretty brutal on electronics. You’ve got steam everywhere and the constant risk of a splash.
